What is love-bombing?
Overwhelming affection, attention and commitment delivered very early in a relationship, before the person could realistically know you, followed by pressure when you pull back and a withdrawal of the affection once you’re committed. It is widely described as the opening phase of narcissistic or coercive relationships.
How is love-bombing different from a whirlwind romance?
Speed and intensity are shared by both. The differences are pressure (whether stepping back is punished) and the switch (whether the affection drops sharply once it has secured you). A sincere whirlwind stays warm; a love-bomb goes cold on schedule.
