What are the signs of a narcissistic boss?
The four patterns this scan tracks: taking credit for others’ work, shifting blame when things fail, demanding loyalty and flattery over results, and using fear, sarcasm or public criticism to control the team. Confidence and high standards on their own are not signs.
Should I confront a narcissistic boss?
Direct confrontation usually backfires, because the boss experiences it as an attack on their image. Documentation, allies outside the team, and a clear exit plan work better than a showdown. If the behavior crosses into harassment, that is an HR or legal matter.
